Drumming extravaganza
Here are the fantastic staff at Bassett Green joining the Year 5 drummers and guitarists in their end of year concert.

Marwell Zoo
Year R are having a terrific day out at Marwell Zoo. They are spending the day wandering around and looking at the wonderful animals.
For some of the children this is their first trip to the zoo so they are very excited!
The teachers are just hoping that we don't bring any animals home with us ...

What an amazing show!
If you haven't got your tickets for tomorrow night you're missing out on a treat !
Obstacle course
This is one of the many challenges and activities at this year's Sports day.
I wonder if it will be an event at the Olympics next year?
On the subject of the Olympics, click here for lots more information on London 2012!
Sports day !
It's that time of the year again - Sports Day. The children have been practicing hard and are now in top form to compete in all off the activities. The children have five minutes to get as many points as they can and then move around to the next activity.
Some children have been challenging their teachers to some races - more news on that later ...
Nurture Group Celebration
This is a picture of the children in our nurture group enjoying a fantastic picnic and play afternoon at the adventure play area at Thornhill Primary School.
They met with children from other nurture groups in the city for a celebration afternoon.

On our way home
We're on our way home now. We had a brilliant day and although we didn't win any medals we are really proud of our efforts.
See you in a few hours ...

Game on!
The competition has just started.
We get 5 minutes at each station to score as many points as we can, then we all move round.
They are scoring us for 'Skills for life' too like honesty, team work and communication.

We've arrived!
We made it everyone!
Got here safely and now just practicing our putting and driving.
All of the team have been given different coloured T-Shirts to wear so we all stand out. They haven't got any big enough for Mr Medway or Mr Robinson though!
The team from Yorkshire look good !

We're off!
Well, it's 6.30am and whilst the rest of you are all snuggled nice and warm in dreamy land, we are off on an adventure. We are going to Loughborough to play golf in the national championships.
We are representing the whole of South-East England and we'll be playing teams from all over the UK. We'll try to keep you updated throughout the day on the blog.
Wish us luck!

Summer Fair 2011
Bassett Green's Summer Fair this year was a terrific success. The event was really well attended and was full of lots of fun games and activities. The school managed to raise an amazing £906 to go towards the cost of the new minibus.
This is the film of two teachers being gunged after winning (or losing as the case may be) the 'Gunge the teacher' competition.
Hop, Step, Jump to victory !
Meet our County Champion!
Maya was one of our students who took part in the Southampton Schools’ Athletics Championships at Southampton Sports Centre on Wednesday 22nd June.
Maya won the Triple Jump competition and beat the existing county record by an amazing 60cm! The previous record of 6m has stood for 5 yrs.
We're really proud of you Maya, well done!
